We have all heard the big fish tales, but unless we
see it, we cannot confirm it. Because there are
so many different ways to catch a shark we have
laid out several different examples of the world’s
biggest shark.

Island weighs an amazing 5,085 lb, making it
possibly the biggest shark ever caught.

In 1986 Frank Mundus and Donnie Braddick
caught a 3,427-pound great white about 28
miles off Montauk, and only 18 miles from Block
Island, which still holds the record for the largest
shark ever caught by rod and reel.
